Train fares…are these prices for real?

Are These Train Fares Real?

Good day everyone,

Currently residing in London, I’ve planned out a series of comedy shows in places like Swindon, Canterbury, and Woking. A few weeks back, I was just casually checking out tour dates for some of my favorite comedians and went on to book any shows that were an hour’s train ride away from London.

However, when I went to purchase a train ticket to Swindon, I was dumbfounded by the price – a whopping £118 for a return ticket! This exceeds the cost of my flight to Dublin. Can this be accurate? This seems outrageous, right? I must be on the wrong websites. Please reassure me that I am mistaken! I had anticipated a maximum price of about £20. This has left me rather anxious; I might have to consider re-selling tickets to the gigs I’ve scheduled, as I cannot rationalize that expense.

Are Train Fares in London Really This Expensive?

    Hi everyone,

Currently, I am in London and have planned to attend several comedy gigs in places such as Swindon, Canterbury, and Woking. A few weeks ago, I was checking the tour schedules of my favorite comedians and booking shows that are within an hour’s train ride from London.

Recently, I decided to book a train ticket to Swindon and was shocked to see the price – £118 for a return ticket! It’s even more expensive than my flight ticket to Dublin! Is this for real? This seems outrageous, right? Maybe I’m checking the wrong websites? I was expecting the fare to be around £20 maximum. I am starting to panic now as I might have to resell the tickets for all the gigs I planned because I simply can’t justify paying that much.
