Travelodge Late Checkout?

Wondering About Late Checkouts at Travelodge?

Concerns About Extending Your Stay at Travelodge?

Over the past few years, my partner and I have frequented a number of Travelodge locations across the UK. We have made it a habit to request a late checkout until 2pm for an additional fee of £10.

However, we have noticed a pattern in our experiences – in around 80% of the places we have stayed, we often find staff members knocking on our door promptly at 12pm, the standard checkout time. At the same time, our key cards seem to stop working.

This begs the question – are these occurrences due to a flawed internal system where the staff are genuinely unaware of the late checkout arrangement, or is it a deliberate practice to encourage guests to vacate the rooms earlier than planned?

Wondering About Travelodge Late Checkout Policy

My partner and I have had the pleasure of staying in over 10 Travelodge locations across the United Kingdom in recent years. Without fail, we always opt for the £10 late checkout option, extending our stay until 2pm.

However, in approximately 80% of the places we’ve visited, we’ve encountered a situation where staff knock on our door around noon, the standard checkout time, questioning our presence. Additionally, our key cards seem to stop working at this time.

This leads me to wonder: is there a breakdown in internal communication resulting in unaware staff members, or is this simply a common practice to encourage guests to vacate the premises earlier?
