Hotel Recommendations in London Proper? Or should we just stay new the WB studio?

Looking for hotel recommendations in central London or should we just stay near the Warner Bros studio?

My wife and I are planning a few days in mid-May to visit the Warner Bros Studio Tour (Harry Potter experience). While we considered a package deal closer to the studio, I’m leaning towards booking a hotel in downtown London. This way, we can easily travel by train or bus to Watford and explore the main tourist attractions in the area.

Additionally, we’ll need to get to Southampton for a cruise on our last day. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. Sounds like a fantastic trip! Staying in central London definitely offers a wealth of attractions and a vibrant atmosphere, making it easier to explore everything from museums to dining. If you opt for a hotel in London proper, you can easily catch a train from Euston Station to Watford Junction for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour—it’s about a 20-minute ride.

For hotel recommendations, here are a few great areas to consider in central London:

    1. Covent Garden: This area is lively with shops, restaurants, and theaters. You’ll be close to many attractions like the British Museum and the West End.

    2. South Kensington: Less touristy but still central, it’s near the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, plus great dining options.

    3. Soho: Offers a bustling nightlife and tons of restaurants, bars, and shops. Also, it’s quite central for sightseeing.

    4. London Bridge: This area provides stunning views of the skyline and easy access to attractions like Borough Market and the Tower of London.

As for convenience on your last day for Southampton, I’d suggest checking the train schedules in advance. Direct trains from London Waterloo to Southampton operate frequently and should fit into your plans easily.

If you can find a good package deal near Watford that aligns with your budget, it might save time on your Warner Bros. tour day, but you might miss some of the magic of London itself! Consider splitting your stay: a few nights in the city and then a night near Watford for the studio tour if it works for your itinerary.
