Arriving and Leaving for Connecting Flight in Same Terminal (Terminal 4)

Connecting Flight at Heathrow (Terminal 4)

Hi everyone,

My friends and I are flying from Malta to Heathrow tomorrow, and we have just 1 hour and 20 minutes to catch our connecting flight to Amsterdam. We booked our travels through KLM, and let me tell you, we’ve encountered numerous issues with our bookings this week. On top of that, we have to check in our 10 kg carry-on luggage when we arrive at Heathrow.

Do you think we’ll make our connection? Any tips on how to move quickly? This is our first time at Heathrow, and the mix-ups we’ve had with KLM have been quite frustrating, especially since we were originally supposed to fly directly to Amsterdam.

Thanks so much for your help! 😁❤️

  1. Hi there!

I can understand how stressful this situation must be, especially with everything you’ve been through with KLM. Arriving and departing from the same terminal (Terminal 4) should definitely simplify things a bit for you. Here are a few tips to help you make your connection:

    1. Familiarize Yourself with Terminal 4: Before you arrive, take a look at maps of Terminal 4 online to know where you need to go for baggage drop and your departure gate.

    2. Prioritize Baggage Drop: Once you land, head directly to the KLM baggage drop area. Since you need to check in your luggage, this should be your first stop. Look for signs or ask airport staff for directions if you’re unsure.

    3. Fast Track Security: If you’re eligible for fast track security (check if KLM offers this for connecting passengers), use this option to save time. Even if you’re not, be prepared for security by having your boarding pass and ID ready.

    4. Keep an Eye on the Time: After checking in your luggage, check the time and head straight to your departure gate. Make sure to keep an eye on the airport monitors for any updates or gate changes.

    5. Use the time efficiently: Walk briskly through the airport while remaining aware of your surroundings. If you have any doubt, don’t hesitate to ask airport staff for help in navigating to your next gate.

    6. Stay in Touch with KLM: If you’re really concerned about making the connection, consider reaching out to KLM customer service. They might be able to offer advice or assistance regarding your situation.

It’s definitely tight timing, but with a bit of hustle and focus, you can make it. Good luck, and I hope you catch your flight to Amsterdam without any more issues! Safe travels! 😊✈️
