Luggage rules for coaches (national express)

Luggage Policy for National Express Coaches
I’m preparing for a 7-hour coach trip soon and I’m feeling quite anxious about placing my belongings in the luggage compartment beneath the coach. I’m particularly concerned about the chaos of disembarking, especially since I’ll be getting off in London where it can get really crowded.
Is there any chance they would allow me to keep my luggage with me in the seating area instead of having to store it underneath? Here’s the bag I’m planning to bring for reference…
It’s completely understandable to feel anxious about your luggage while traveling, especially on a long coach trip. National Express generally has specific luggage policies that you should be aware of. Typically, larger bags need to be stored in the luggage compartment, but you can often keep smaller bags or personal items with you in the seating area.
It might be helpful to contact National Express directly to explain your situation and see if they can make any accommodations for you. In some cases, they might allow you to keep a smaller bag or important items with you, especially if you explain your anxiety.
Additionally, consider packing essential items (like any medications, valuables, or comfort items) in a smaller carry-on bag that you can keep with you. This way, you’ll have what you need accessible during your journey, which might help alleviate some of your anxiety about the larger bag stored below. Safe travels!
