Vacation in England for the Month of June

June Vacation in England

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I’m planning a trip to England from May 31st to July 2nd, followed by a month in France from July 3rd to July 31st.

I’ve already booked my flight from Denver to London, with a return flight from Paris to Denver. Additionally, I’ve secured an Airbnb in London from May 31st to June 7th and will be visiting a friend in Cambridge to explore East of England from June 7th to June 9th.

This leaves me with June 10th to July 2nd to discover the rest of England. I’m thinking of spending three days in various regions, including East Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, North East, North West, West Midlands, South West, and South East. However, I’m worried about the potential costs for accommodation, meals, and transportation adding up quickly.

I’d appreciate any tips on how to plan a budget-friendly itinerary. Should I focus on fewer regions to keep expenses lower? Thanks for your help!

  1. Your trip sounds amazing! Here are a few tips to help you plan your England itinerary on a budget while still making the most of your time:

    1. Focus on Fewer Regions: Since you’re concerned about costs, consider narrowing down your focus to 2-3 regions instead of trying to cover them all. You could spend more time in each area, which would also allow you to explore more deeply and discover local gems.

    2. Transportation: Look into rail passes like the BritRail Pass, which can provide unlimited train travel on consecutive days across England. Additionally, booking train tickets in advance can often save you a lot of money. If you’re in cities, buses and trams can be more economical than trains.

    3. Accommodation: Instead of Airbnb, consider budget-friendly options like hostels, guesthouses, or even hotels that offer discounts for longer stays. Websites like Hostelworld and Booking.com often feature competitive rates. If you’re open to it, consider Couchsurfing to save on accommodation costs.

    4. Food Costs: Eating out can quickly eat into your budget. Try to find local markets or supermarkets for breakfast and snacks, and enjoy picnic lunches in parks. Look for affordable eateries or meal deals in chains and local pubs.

    5. Attractions: Research free or low-cost attractions in each region you visit. Many museums and galleries in the UK have free entry. Additionally, check for discounted entry fees to attractions if you book online in advance.

    6. Plan Ahead: Create a rough itinerary for each region, but be flexible. Prioritize your must-see spots, and if you find that things are getting too expensive, you can skip some attractions to save money.

    7. Local Transport: In larger cities, consider getting a public transport pass for the duration of your stay. This can help you save on fares while allowing you to explore easily.

    8. Travel Off-Peak: If you can, travel during off-peak hours for transportation to benefit from cheaper prices.

By focusing on fewer regions and planning carefully, you can have a fantastic experience without breaking the bank! Enjoy your travels!
