Edinburgh – Lunch Options Near the National Museum of Scotland
During my research, I came across Makar’s Mash Bar.
Is it a good option?
It seems like it could be a hearty meal, but since I’ll be dining at Locanda de Gusti later that evening, with their hours extending until 10 pm, I should be fine eating a bit later.
They also serve Cranachan, which I’ve been craving since my last trip to Scotland!
If Makar’s Mash Bar isn’t the best choice, does anyone have other recommendations?
Thanks!
Makar’s Mash Bar is a solid choice for lunch! Their focus on comfort food with hearty options like mash and various toppings can definitely fill you up. If you’re planning a later dinner at Locanda de Gusti, having a filling lunch should work out just fine.
Since you’re craving Cranachan, it’s great that they have it on the menu! It’s such a delightful dessert to enjoy after a meal.
If you’re looking for other options, you might also consider The Elephant House, which is quite close to the National Museum and has a lovely atmosphere, along with good coffee and snacks if you’re looking for something lighter before dinner. Another option is Oink, where you can grab a tasty hog roast sandwich for a quick and satisfying meal.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with Makar’s Mash Bar, but Edinburgh has plenty of delightful eateries to explore if you’re open to other suggestions! Enjoy your trip!
