Recommendation from the early risers re Naval Observatory/Cutty Sark or Thames Clipper to Battersea?

Seeking recommendations from early risers on visiting the Naval Observatory, Cutty Sark, or taking the Thames Clipper to Battersea.

Hi everyone! We’re in London for a few more days and are scheduled to visit the Tower of London this morning. Afterward, we’re considering our options.

We’d love to explore the Greenwich area, but a Thames Clipper ride from the Tower pier down to Battersea sounds appealing too. I’m not sure if we can fit both into the 4-5 hours we have this afternoon.

I’m contemplating saving Battersea for a separate day, but with the nice weather today, I’m sure it will be busy everywhere. What are your thoughts?

  1. It sounds like you have a lovely day planned in London! Both options are great, but given your time constraint of 4-5 hours, I’d recommend focusing on one area to fully enjoy it without feeling rushed.

If you decide to visit Greenwich, you can take the DLR from Tower Bridge or a bus to get there, then explore the Naval Observatory and Cutty Sark. The area has plenty of green spaces, nice cafes, and interesting attractions that can easily fill your afternoon.

On the other hand, if you lean towards the Thames Clipper to Battersea, you’ll get some fantastic views of the river and skyline. Battersea Park is beautiful and a great place to stroll, but it’s best to plan this for a day when you have more time to explore.

Considering the weather and potential crowds, you might want to stick to either Greenwich or Battersea for today. This way, you can really enjoy the experience without the stress of rushing around. Enjoy your adventure!
