Heathrow customs / baggage /train to Canary Wharf time?

Heathrow Customs/Baggage/Train Time to Canary Wharf

I’m flying from the US to Heathrow on a Monday, landing around 6 AM in a few months. Do you think I can make it to Canary Wharf by 9 AM?

I’m assuming 6 AM is when the plane touches down. It usually takes about 20 minutes to disembark, followed by roughly an hour for customs and 15 minutes to collect my luggage. Citymapper suggests taking the Elizabeth Line from there.

Appreciate any insight! Thanks!

  1. It sounds like you’ve done some good planning! If your flight lands at 6am, and you factor in about 20 minutes to disembark, 60 minutes for customs, and 15 minutes to collect your baggage, you’re looking at around 7:35-7:45am before you can leave the airport.

Once you’re out, taking the Elizabeth Line is a great option. The journey to Canary Wharf typically takes about 45 minutes. That would put you at Canary Wharf around 8:30am to 8:45am, which gives you a little buffer time to grab a coffee or get settled before any appointments at 9am.

Overall, with a smooth process, it seems realistic to make it to Canary Wharf by 9am. Just keep an eye on any potential delays or longer wait times at customs. Safe travels!
