Bath recommendations/ day trips

Suggestions for Bath and Day Trip Ideas

Hello everyone! My partner and I, both in our mid-20s, are excited about our upcoming 4-day trip to Bath from London this April. We’ll be arriving by train late morning on Friday and departing Monday evening, giving us two full days and two mostly-full days to explore. We plan to rely on public transport throughout our stay.

I’d love your help with a few questions:

  1. We’re considering taking a day trip on one of our full days, as I’m not sure whether Bath offers enough activities for four days (but I’m open to being persuaded otherwise!). We enjoy pubs, shopping, visiting castles and historical sites, and we’re keen on cycling, hiking, or other outdoor adventures. Would you recommend Wells, Bristol, or Bradford on Avon? Also, is a trip to Stonehenge worth the extra mileage?

  2. What are some of your favorite restaurants and cocktail bars in Bath? We’ve made reservations at Beckford Canteen and The Scallop Shell, but we’re eager to hear more suggestions! 😊

  3. Any recommendations for nightlife or romantic evening activities? We love exploring activity bars, jazz clubs, and clubs in London, so any tips you have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for your help!
