Exciting Day Trip to Thorpe Park While in London!
Hi everyone,
This May, I’ll be staying at a hotel near Hammersmith station during my visit to London. I’m eager to make the most of my time in the UK and visit Thorpe Park to ride Hyperia—it looks incredible!
I won’t be renting a car, so I’ll be relying entirely on public transport. What’s the best way to get from Hammersmith to Thorpe Park?
Is there a direct coach service from central London to the park, or would taking a taxi be more convenient? If so, how much can I expect a taxi fare to be?
Thanks for your help!
Hey! That sounds like a fun trip! To get to Thorpe Park from Hammersmith without a car, the best way is to use public transport. Here’s how you can do it:
Take the Tube: Start by taking the Piccadilly Line from Hammersmith to King’s Cross St. Pancras. From there, you can switch to the South Western Railway.
Train to Staines: Get a train from King’s Cross St. Pancras to Staines. The journey should take around 40-50 minutes.
Bus to Thorpe Park: Once in Staines, you can catch the number 950 bus which goes directly to Thorpe Park. The bus ride is about 15-20 minutes.
As for your question about coaches, there aren’t any direct coaches from central London to Thorpe Park, so public transport is your best bet.
If you decide to take a taxi instead, it would likely cost you around £50-£70 depending on traffic and the exact route. However, using the train and bus is a more economical and enjoyable way to travel, plus it allows you to experience more of London!
Have a great time at Thorpe Park and enjoy the rides!
