Confused with tapping in-out Elizabeth line to Thameslink line

Subject: Clarification Needed for Tapping In/Out at Farringdon

Hi everyone,

I have a question about my journey. I’ll be traveling from Stratford to Farringdon on the Elizabeth Line, and then I plan to take the Thameslink service to Cambridge. I’ve purchased a separate ticket for the Thameslink journey.

Do I still need to tap out at Farringdon to avoid being overcharged before heading to the Thameslink platform? This whole process is quite confusing for me. Thanks for your help!

  1. Hi! I understand your confusion. Since you’ve purchased a separate ticket for the Thameslink journey, you will indeed need to tap out at Farringdon when you complete your ride on the Elizabeth Line. This is important to avoid being overcharged. After you tap out, you can proceed to the Thameslink platform to catch your train to Cambridge. Just make sure to have your Thameslink ticket handy as you’ll need it to board the train. Safe travels!
