Experience with Sixt?

Has anyone had issues renting a car from Sixt?
I’m British and currently living abroad. Last year, I had a smooth experience renting from them. However, in February, I made a reservation over a month in advance, but when I arrived at the airport, the agent told me that my rental was declined due to a background check.
It was during half-term, so I was fortunate to find an alternative rental, but it ended up costing a lot more.
Has anyone else faced a similar situation with Sixt?
I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Sixt; that sounds really frustrating! Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for rental companies to have strict policies or checks that can result in being declined, even if you had a good experience in the past. Factors like credit checks, age restrictions, or even previous rental history can sometimes come into play.
While I haven’t personally had an issue with Sixt, I’ve read similar stories online. Some people have faced declines unexpectedly, especially if there were any flags on their profile or if their payment method didn’t meet the company’s requirements.
If you haven’t already, it might be a good idea to reach out to Sixt’s customer service to get clarification on why you were declined. They may provide insights into the specific reasons and help you avoid similar issues in the future. In any case, I hope your next rental experience goes more smoothly!
