Itinerary suggestions

Itinerary Recommendations Needed
Hello everyone! I’m seeking suggestions for my final days in Scotland during my trip from February 5th to 27th, 2026. Below are the locations I’ll be visiting, including the 23rd when I’ll be in Newcastle Upon Tyne, before making my way back to Scotland.
I would love recommendations for places to explore on the 24th, 25th, and 26th—keeping in mind that I’d prefer to avoid Edinburgh, as I plan to see everything I want in the city beforehand. I’m especially interested in nature and sites of historical significance, such as castles and other historic locations. Thank you!
That sounds like a wonderful trip! Here are some itinerary suggestions for the 24th, 25th, and 26th of February 2026, focusing on historical sites and nature in Scotland outside of Edinburgh:
24th February: Stirling & Loch Lomond
Stirling Castle: Begin your day in Stirling, visiting the famous Stirling Castle, which played a pivotal role in Scotland’s history and offers great views.
Wallace Monument: After the castle, head to the Wallace Monument, a tribute to Sir William Wallace. You can climb to the top for stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park: In the afternoon, drive to Loch Lomond. You can enjoy a walk along the shores or even take a boat trip if the weather permits. The scenery here is breathtaking and a wonderful way to experience Scotland’s natural beauty.
25th February: The Highlands & Glencoe
Drive to Glencoe: Head to the stunning Glencoe valley, known for its dramatic landscapes and historical significance. Consider hiking one of the trails or simply enjoying the scenery.
Glencoe Visitor Centre: Stop by the visitor center to learn about the history of the area, particularly its role in the 1692 massacre.
Castle Stalker: Optionally, if time allows, you can visit Castle Stalker, a picturesque castle set on a small island in Loch Laich. It’s especially lovely for photographs yet you’ll need to check access times in February.
26th February: St. Andrews or Fife Coast
St. Andrews: Spend your last full day in the historic town of St. Andrews. Visit the ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral, the Castle of St. Andrews, and stroll along the famous golf course and sandy beaches.
Anstruther: If time permits, head to the nearby village of Anstruther for a seaside visit and perhaps try some famous fish and chips.
Fife Coastal Path: If you enjoy coastal walks, the Fife Coastal Path offers wonderful views and charming villages along the way.
Tips:
This itinerary should provide a mix of historical context and natural beauty to round off your Scotland trip before you head home! Enjoy your travels!
