London to Manchester direct trains

Direct trains from London to Manchester
I’ll be in London from May 24th to 26th, but I need to catch a flight back from Manchester. While checking train options with Avanti West Coast, I noticed that direct trains in April take about 2 hours to reach Manchester, while those on my travel dates take at least 3 hours. Is there a reason for this difference? Would you recommend any alternatives?
It’s great that you’re planning a visit to London! The difference in train times could be due to several factors, such as scheduled maintenance work on the tracks or different service patterns during your travel dates. Avanti West Coast may also have adjusted their schedules for operational reasons or passenger load.
If you’re looking for alternatives, you might consider checking trains from London to Manchester on different websites like National Rail or Trainline, just to ensure you see all available options. Another option could be to look into the idea of taking a coach or even a short domestic flight if time is crucial, but the train is usually the most convenient and scenic route.
Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as prices typically rise closer to the travel date. Enjoy your trip!
