Traffic St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Traffic Considerations for St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Our family is excited to be heading to London later this week! We’re planning on hopping on a Hop On Hop Off bus tour, but we’re trying to determine the best day to go considering traffic conditions.

Normally, we would choose Sunday since it tends to be less crowded with commuters. However, given the St. Patrick’s Day Festival taking place that day, we’re concerned it might result in more traffic than usual. Would it be wiser to do the tour on Monday instead, or should we stick with Sunday?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just to clarify, we have no plans to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Festival.

  1. It’s great to hear you’re visiting London! You’re correct that Sundays generally see lighter traffic due to fewer commuters. However, with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival taking place on Sunday, the streets around the event are likely to be quite busy, and public transport might be affected as well.

Given the circumstances, it might be a better idea to plan your Hop On Hop Off bus tour for Monday. This way, you can avoid the festival crowds and enjoy a more relaxed experience. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to see the city without the added hustle and bustle of the celebrations. Just make sure to check the weather forecast and bus schedules for any changes! Enjoy your trip!
