Travel recommendations for a solo repeat traveler in London.

Travel Tips for a Solo Adventurer Returning to London
I’ll be in London for 2-3 days this March and am eager to explore beyond the usual tourist attractions. I’ve already visited iconic spots like Big Ben, Harry Potter Studios, the Sky Garden, enjoyed bar hopping, sampled delicious bites at Borough and Camden markets, caught a Premier League game, and taken in a West End show.
I’d love to hear recommendations from locals on unique experiences to try! I’m all about adventure, exploring great food and cocktails, and enjoying nature, but I’m not particularly interested in museums, history, or architecture.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions! 🙂
It sounds like you have a great background in exploring London! Here are some recommendations for unique experiences, adventures, and great food/cocktail options for your upcoming trip:
Borough Market After Dark: While you’ve already visited Borough Market, consider going back for some of the evening food experiences they host, particularly on Thursdays or Fridays. It’s a different vibe, and you can try tons of delicious street food.
Cocktail Masterclass: Sign up for a cocktail-making class at a local bar like The Cocktail Trading Co. or 69 Colebrooke Row. You’ll learn how to create some unique cocktails and enjoy your creations!
Food Truck Festival: Check out Southbank Centre’s food market or other food truck festivals that might be happening during your visit. It’s a great chance to sample diverse cuisines from around the world.
Visit a Rooftop Bar: For cocktails with a view, head to places like Golden Bee or Aqua Shard. They both offer fantastic views over London and a great atmosphere.
Thames River Walk: Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Thames Path. It’s a lovely way to take in the city from a different angle, and you can choose to stop at parks like Battersea Park or Greenwich along the way.
Explore the Hidden Gems of East London: Venture into neighborhoods like Shoreditch or Hackney, known for their street art and eclectic vibe. You can stroll around, stop by local shops, or find a unique café.
Street Food at Boxpark: In Shoreditch or Croydon, Boxpark is a pop-up mall made of shipping containers featuring a range of independent street food vendors and bars. It’s a fantastic place to grab a casual bite and enjoy some local atmosphere.
Sky Garden Yoga: If you’re into wellness, check out classes at the Sky Garden or other rooftops offering yoga sessions. It’s a unique way to start your day with a view!
Dine at a Unique Restaurant: Consider dining at places like Dans Le Noir? for a sensory experience dining in the dark or at one of London’s themed restaurants like The Cheese Bar or Dishoom for sublime Indian cuisine.
Outdoor Markets and Street Festivals: Look into any outdoor market or street festival happening during your stay, such as the Columbia Road Flower Market or Brick Lane for food and shopping.
Take a Walk in the Parks: Spend some time in parks like Hampstead Heath or Richmond Park, where you can also enjoy amazing views and maybe even catch a glimpse of some deer!
Whatever you choose, make sure to enjoy the unique culinary and cultural scene London has to offer! Happy travels!
