Travelling to Anfield from Canada, looking for recommendations April 2nd Vs Everton

Heading to Anfield from Canada for the Liverpool vs. Everton match on April 2nd! I’m seeking suggestions on where to grab a drink before the game—any favorite pubs or bars? And what about post-match hangouts?

Also, how early should I arrive? My Airbnb is just a 10-minute walk away.

I’m traveling solo and would love to meet some fellow fans while I’m there!

Thanks in advance!

  1. That sounds like an exciting trip! There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere at Anfield for a Merseyside Derby. Here are some recommendations:

    Pre-Game:

    1. The Arkles – This pub is just a 10-minute walk from Anfield and is popular with fans. It can get quite busy, so arriving a couple of hours before kickoff is a good idea.

    2. The Anfield Tavern – Another great choice, this bar has a lively atmosphere and is also close to the stadium. It’s often filled with fellow supporters.

    3. The Flat Iron – A bit further away but worth it for the atmosphere. They serve food and drinks and often have live music.

    4. The Cop Coffee – If you’re looking for a lower-key vibe, this is a good spot for a coffee and snack. They often have local merchandise, too.

    After the Game:

    1. The Sandon – This pub is just around the corner and has a great atmosphere post-match, especially if Liverpool wins!

    2. The Florrie – A community pub with a warm vibe that’s great for meeting locals and fellow fans. They sometimes have live music too.

    3. St. Domingo’s – A nice place to unwind where you can chat with fellow Reds about the match.

    Timing:
I’d recommend getting to the area at least 2-3 hours before kickoff to soak in the atmosphere and avoid the last-minute rush. It will give you time to grab a drink, chat with fellow fans, and enjoy the pre-game excitement.

    Meeting People:
Many Liverpool fans are friendly and welcoming, so don’t hesitate to strike up conversations at the pubs or on your way to the game. You can also check out fan groups on social media or platforms like Meetup for events around the match.

Enjoy your trip and the match! YNWA!
