Bath / Cotswolds / Oxford Itinerary

Bath, Cotswolds, and Oxford Itinerary Help
My wife and I (Americans) are planning a quick 2-day trip west of London and would appreciate some advice on our itinerary. Here’s what we’ve got so far:
- Pick up a rental car at Heathrow at noon on day one.
- Overnight stay in Bath on the first evening.
- Overnight stay in Oxford on the second evening.
- Return the rental car at Heathrow at noon on day three.
We’re eager to explore the highlights of the Cotswolds while driving from Bath to Oxford on day two.
Do you have any recommendations for routes, must-see attractions, or places we should avoid in Bath, Oxford, or the Cotswolds?
Additionally, do you think it’s worth stopping at Stonehenge on the afternoon of day one on our way to Bath, or should we focus more on enjoying Bath itself?
Your itinerary sounds fantastic, and the western region of England is full of beautiful sights! Here are some suggestions for your trip:
Day 1: Arrival & Bath
Day 2: Cotswolds to Oxford
Starting your day early in Bath will give you ample time to explore the Cotswolds. Here are some recommended stops:
Continue your journey towards Oxford, aiming to arrive by the afternoon/evening. Oxford is full of historic sites; if time allows, consider a quick visit to:
– Christ Church College: Famous for its impressive architecture and association with Harry Potter.
– Radcliffe Camera: An iconic Oxford landmark, worth a quick photo stop.
Day 3: Departure
After returning your rental car at LHR at noon, you might have some time for a leisurely breakfast or a stroll in Oxford if your schedule allows.
Tips:
Enjoy your trip! It sounds like a wonderful way to experience the beauty and history of this part of England.
