Lodging for family of 4 with two teens nearly impossible?

Finding suitable lodging for a family of four with two teens feels nearly impossible! After spending countless hours emailing various hotels, it seems like the particular setup we need is non-existent. My daughter is 15 and my son is 18, and sharing a bed is simply not an option for them—they would be mortified and likely end up fighting! I’m struggling to find a hotel that offers two connecting rooms with separate beds in one of them. All the family suites seem to assume the kids will share a bed. We’re hoping to stay in the Southwark area, but honestly, we’re open to any location in Zone 1 if we can find the right layout. Our budget is between $300 and $500 per room. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I can understand how challenging it can be to find appropriate lodging for a family with teens! Here are some suggestions that might help you in your search:
Family Suites & Apartment Hotels: Look into hotels that offer family suites or serviced apartments, as these often come with two separate bedrooms or a larger living space. Brands like Residence Inn, Adagio, and Staycity often cater to families.
Airbnb or Vacation Rentals: Consider renting an entire apartment or house through platforms like Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com. This way, you can find a place with enough rooms and separate beds for everyone.
Hotel Chains: Certain hotel chains, such as Best Western, Hilton, or Marriott, often have properties that can accommodate families. Many have rooms with two queen beds or connecting rooms available if you inquire directly.
Call Directly: Sometimes, hotels may offer options or layouts that aren’t listed online. A quick call to the hotel can confirm current availability and layout options.
Travel Forums: Consider reaching out on family travel forums or social media groups, as other families may have had similar experiences and can offer recommendations.
Flexible Locations: If you’re open to staying just outside Southwark, you might find more options in nearby areas like Borough, Waterloo, or even areas in Zone 2 that are just a short transit ride away.
I hope these suggestions help ease your search and find the right accommodations for your family! Safe travels!
