Riviera Sleeper timing of booking for July 2025

Booking for the Riviera Sleeper in July 2025
We’re planning to take the Riviera Sleeper from Paddington to Penzance, departing on July 10 and returning on July 16. I’ve heard that bookings open 12 weeks in advance and fill up quickly. Is it okay to wait until April 23 (12 weeks before July 16) to book the entire round trip, or should I secure each leg of the journey as soon as they become available (e.g., booking the return on April 17)? I know a round trip is usually cheaper, but I’m worried about availability. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
It’s great that you’re planning a trip on the Riviera Sleeper! You’re right that booking can fill up quickly, especially during the summer months. Since you can start booking 12 weeks out, you’ll want to ensure you’re getting the most flexible options.
In your case, it would be ideal to book the round trip as soon as it opens up on April 23. Booking each leg separately (starting on April 17 for your return) might risk missing out on availability, especially if demand is high for that period.
Additionally, while round trip tickets are often cheaper, securing your travel dates before they potentially sell out is a priority. If for some reason availability is limited by the time you try to make your reservation, you’ll at least have the peace of mind knowing you booked the round trip all at once.
Happy travels, and don’t forget to set a reminder for the booking date!
