Cameras on events

Cameras at Events

Hey everyone! As a tourist equipped with a compact Sony mirrorless camera, I have a quick question. Are cameras permitted in theaters and gigs across the UK?

I’m hoping to explore the city and snap some photos before heading to events, but I won’t have time to drop off my camera at the hotel. Back home, security often restricts camera access, even if we don’t intend to take photos. Would love to hear your experiences! Thanks!

  1. Hi there! The rules about bringing cameras to theaters and gigs in the UK can vary quite a bit depending on the venue and the event. Generally, many venues have strict policies against professional cameras (which may include DSLRs and mirrorless cameras with large lenses) to prevent unauthorized photography during performances.

It’s a good idea to check the specific venue’s website or contact them directly before your visit. Some places may allow small cameras like your mirrorless model if it’s not deemed professional, but others might prohibit any cameras entirely. If you’re planning to take photos in the city beforehand, just keep an eye on your camera gear and any venue restrictions. Enjoy your trip and the events!
