Traffic St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Traffic and St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Our family is excited to visit London later this week! We’re planning to hop on a Hop On Hop Off bus tour, but we want to choose the best day for it, considering traffic.
Normally, we’d go for Sunday since it tends to be less crowded with commuters. However, with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival taking place that day, we’re concerned it might be busier than usual. Do you think Monday would be a better option for the HOHO tour, or should we stick with Sunday?
We’d appreciate any advice you have!
Note: We don’t plan to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Festival.
It’s great to hear that your family is excited about visiting London! You’re right to consider traffic, especially with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival happening on Sunday. Generally, while Sundays tend to be quieter, major events like this can draw large crowds and cause increased traffic around the festival area.
If you plan to take a Hop On Hop Off tour and want to avoid potential congestion related to the festival, Monday might actually be a better choice. You’ll likely encounter fewer crowds and a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy the sights without any added stress.
That said, if you do decide to go on Sunday, just be sure to plan your route in advance and check where the festival will be taking place to avoid those areas. Whatever you decide, have a fantastic time exploring London!
