48 hours in loondon for the first time

48 hours in London for the first time! I’m staying near Notting Hill and definitely plan to visit the British Museum. Beyond that, I’m excited to explore the city, but I’m not too interested in typical tourist spots. As a broke student, I’d love any recommendations on what to see and do!
Also, does anyone know of a good running route that would let me take in some sights while I explore?
I fly to London tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
That sounds like an exciting trip! Since you’re staying near Notting Hill and are looking to explore the city without breaking the bank, here are some suggestions:
Exploring London on a Budget
Notting Hill: Take a stroll around Notting Hill itself. Check out Portobello Road Market for some unique finds, even if just window shopping. It’s a vibrant area with colorful houses and a cool vibe.
Hyde Park: Just a short walk away, Hyde Park is a beautiful place to relax, people-watch, or have a picnic. You can also check out the Serpentine Lake while you’re there.
South Kensington: Head to this area for a glimpse of the museum district. Although you’re focusing on the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum are also free to enter.
Camden Market: A fun area to explore with lots of food stalls, quirky shops, and street art. It’s lively and has a great atmosphere.
Neighborhood Walks: Consider walking through areas like Shoreditch for a taste of the street art scene, or stroll along the Thames path for beautiful views.
Running Route
A great running route could be:
Hyde Park to Kensington Gardens: Start at your hotel, head to Hyde Park, run through to Kensington Gardens, possibly looping around the Albert Memorial and Kensington Palace. It’s about a 3-mile loop, and you’ll get to enjoy the greenery!
Thames Path: If you’re up for a longer run, consider starting from Westminster Bridge and heading east along the Thames Path. You’ll see iconic landmarks, including the London Eye, and it’s pretty scenic.
