Traffic St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Traffic for St. Patrick’s Day Festival
We’re excited to be heading to London later this week! We’re planning to take a Hop On Hop Off bus tour and are trying to determine the best day for it, considering the traffic.
Usually, we would choose Sunday since there are typically fewer commuters, but with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival taking place that day, we’re concerned it might be busier than usual. Would Monday be a better option for our HOHO tour, or should we stick with Sunday?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Just to note, we don’t plan on attending the St. Patrick’s Day Festival.
That sounds like a fun trip! You’re right to consider the impact of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival on traffic. Sunday is often a quieter day in London, but the festival could definitely bring in larger crowds and road closures, especially in areas like Trafalgar Square and the West End.
If you’re not planning to attend the festival, Monday might indeed be a better choice for your Hop On Hop Off bus tour. While Mondays can be busier with commuters returning to work, the festival-related disruptions will likely be over by then, allowing you to enjoy the sites without the extra crowds.
If you do decide to stick with Sunday, just be prepared for potential delays and plan your route accordingly. Either way, I hope you have a fantastic time in London!
