Travel to York > Scotland > Belgium > Amsterdam – Internet Options?

Traveling to York, Scotland, Belgium, and Amsterdam – What are my internet options?
I’m heading to these countries for the first time and could use some advice on SIM cards. If I purchase one in the UK, will it work in Scotland, Belgium, and Amsterdam? Or should I look into getting European SIM cards?
Thanks in advance!
Hey there! That sounds like an exciting trip! Here are some options for staying connected while you’re traveling across the UK and Europe:
UK SIM Card: If you buy a SIM card in the UK, most major carriers (like EE, Vodafone, and O2) offer plans that allow for EU roaming. This means you can use your UK SIM in Scotland and in other EU countries like Belgium and the Netherlands. Just make sure to check the roaming policy before you buy it, as some may have limits on data usage in Europe.
European SIM Cards: If you prefer to get a SIM card that’s specifically for Europe (or if you need a local plan for Belgium or the Netherlands), you can purchase a SIM card upon arrival. Look for options offered by local carriers at airports or in stores. There are also dedicated travel SIMs that work in multiple countries, like Three’s “Feel At Home” plan in the UK.
eSIM Options: If your phone supports eSIM technology, you can look into eSIM plans that offer coverage across multiple countries. Companies like Airalo provide affordable eSIM data plans for various countries in Europe.
Mobile Hotspots: Another option is renting a portable Wi-Fi device or mobile hotspot that provides internet access across the countries you’re visiting. This can be shared with multiple devices as well.
In summary, using a UK SIM should work well throughout your travels, or you can opt for local European SIMs/eSIMs depending on what suits you best. Enjoy your travels! Cheers!
