Experience with Sixt?

Has anyone had a similar experience with Sixt?
I’m British but currently living overseas. I rented a car from them last year without any issues. However, in February, I made a reservation over a month in advance, but when I arrived at the airport, the staff member at the desk told me, “computer says no.”
It turns out I didn’t pass some kind of check that rental companies use. Thankfully, since it was half-term, I managed to find another rental option that day, but it ended up costing me a lot more.
Has anyone else run into similar problems with Sixt?
I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Sixt. It sounds really frustrating, especially since you had a smooth rental last year. It’s not uncommon for rental companies to have stricter checks or updated criteria that can lead to declined rentals, even for returning customers. I’ve seen similar stories from others, where a prior good rental didn’t guarantee a hassle-free experience the next time.
For some, factors like credit score or driving history can impact rental eligibility, and these checks might differ by country or specific branch. If you have time, it might be worth reaching out to Sixt’s customer service to see if they can provide clarity on what might have gone wrong, or if there’s anything you can do to prevent it in the future.
In the meantime, it might be helpful to keep an eye on rental policies at other companies just in case. Hopefully, your next rental experience goes much smoother!
