Is a 6-minute connection time for the rail replacement bus service at Billericay too tight?

I will be traveling from London to Harwich to catch the overnight ferry to Amsterdam on May 4th, and there will be engineering works between Billericay and Colchester station.

I’d like to know how far the rail replacement bus stop is from the train platforms at Billericay. I’m concerned that a 6-minute connection might be too rushed, especially since it will be my first time at Billericay and I’ll be traveling with seniors. Running a long distance with luggage would be quite challenging for us.

I haven’t been able to find any photos or videos showing the rail replacement bus service for the Billericay to Colchester route.

I would appreciate any advice or insights from the community. 🙂

  1. It sounds like a bit of a tight schedule with just a 6-minute connection time at Billericay, especially since you’ll be traveling with seniors and luggage. Typically, rail replacement bus stops are located relatively close to the train platforms, but the exact distance can vary depending on the setup and other factors like platform changes or accessibility.

If you’re concerned about making your connection, it might be wise to consider a longer connection time if possible or to check for any alternative connections. It could also help to arrive a bit early so you have some buffer time.

Regarding resources, you might try reaching out to the train company directly for specific information, or checking local travel forums for recent experiences—those can sometimes provide the most up-to-date advice. Safe travels and enjoy your trip to Amsterdam!
