Premier Inns Booking Issue with Foreign Credit Card?

Subject: Trouble Booking Premier Inns with a Foreign Credit Card?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone experienced difficulties when trying to book a Premier Inn using a credit card from the US or Canada?
I attempted to complete a booking with a MasterCard, Visa, and Amex but received this error message:
“Oops – something went wrong! Please try again or choose another way to pay.”
I can’t tell if my card is being rejected or if there’s an issue with the website itself.
I did notice that the address entry section doesn’t seem to accommodate North American formats correctly. Although I successfully received the OTP for MasterCard verification, the site still won’t accept my card.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi there,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble booking with Premier Inns using your foreign credit card. This can definitely be frustrating. Here are a few things you could try:
Contact Customer Support: It might be worth reaching out to Premier Inns’ customer service directly. They may be able to assist you with the payment process or identify if there’s a specific issue with foreign cards.
Check Payment Methods: Ensure that your credit card is accepted for international transactions. Sometimes, your bank might block foreign transactions for security reasons, so it could be helpful to call them and confirm.
Try a Different Browser or Device: Occasionally, the issue could be related to the browser or device you’re using. Try making the booking from a different browser or even a mobile device.
Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies can resolve unexpected issues with websites.
Use Alternative Payment Methods: If the issues persist, you could consider booking through a third-party site that accepts North American cards or use another payment method if available (like PayPal, if it’s an option).
Check Address Format: Since you mentioned that the address entry screen looks incorrect for North American formats, ensure that your address is entered in the format the site requires. It may help to format it as close to a UK address format as possible.
Hopefully one of these solutions works for you! Good luck, and I hope you can get your booking sorted out soon.
