first time on LNER

First Time Riding LNER

Hi there! I’m excited to be taking my first LNER trip in June, traveling from Edinburgh to York. I have advance tickets with reserved seats, but I’m a bit uncertain about the boarding process. The e-ticket in the app only shows the departure time, so how will I know when it’s my turn to board?

Additionally, does the train go directly to York without stopping, or are there multiple stops along the way? I noticed on the LNER map that there are several stops, which is a bit confusing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  1. Hi there! Exciting to hear that you’ll be riding with LNER for the first time!

To navigate boarding, you’ll want to keep an eye on the departure boards at the station. They will display information about your train, including the platform number and any updates about boarding. If you have reserved seats, just make sure to arrive at the platform ahead of the departure time so you can find your train easily.

As for the route, LNER trains do make multiple stops along the way from Edinburgh to York, so your train might not be a direct service. You should be able to find this information on your ticket or on the LNER website. It’s a good idea to check the schedule before your trip, so you can see the exact stops your train will make.

Safe travels, and enjoy your journey! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
