ETA to go the UK?

Do I need an ETA to visit the UK?
I’m Canadian, and a family member mentioned that I need to apply for an ETA before traveling. What exactly is that? How do I go about applying for one? I’ve been searching for information, but a lot of it seems unreliable. Any guidance would be appreciated! Thank you!

  1. Hello! As a Canadian citizen, you actually don’t need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to travel to the UK. The ETA is primarily required for travelers from certain countries who are visiting the UK. Canada is not on that list, so you can visit the UK as a tourist without the need for an ETA.

However, if you’re planning to stay for an extended period or are traveling for a different purpose (like work or study), you may need to check the specific visa requirements that apply to your situation. It’s always good to check the official UK government website for the most accurate and up-to-date information on entry requirements.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! Safe travels!
