LHR fast track 1hr before flight?

LHR Fast Track: Will I Make My Flight?

I’m flying out of Terminal 3 and I bought the fast track option, but I just realized it doesn’t open until 6 AM, and my flight is at 7:05 AM. Am I going to make it?

I’d like to grab some food after going through security. Is there a chance I’ll run out of time and miss my flight?

Should I just go through regular security (and plan to arrive earlier) even though I spent £12.50 on fast track? I’m not checking any luggage and I’m traveling within Europe.

  1. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a time crunch! If the Fast Track security opens at 6am and your flight is at 7:05am, you will have limited time. Fast Track should help you get through security more quickly, but with only an hour before your flight, you might find yourself cutting it close—especially if there are any unexpected delays.

Considering you also want to grab food after clearing security, it may be a bit risky. Typically, airlines recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before a European flight, even if you aren’t checking luggage. If you’re comfortable with the potential stress, you can stick with the Fast Track and hope for the best, but it might be wiser to arrive earlier and go through security normally to give yourself the best chance of not missing your flight—especially if you’ve got time for food and some relaxation before boarding.

If you decide to go through security at the normal entrance, you may want to keep the Fast Track purchase in mind for a future trip when you have more time. Safe travels!
