It is possible to visit Chatsworth in one day from London?

Is a day trip to Chatsworth from London feasible?
Hello! I’m from Peru and will be in London this July. As a big fan of Pride and Prejudice, I’d love to make a day trip to Chatsworth.
I’ll be staying in Tower Hamlets for five days before heading to Manchester for two days, after which I’ll return home.
I’ve heard it’s easier to visit Chatsworth from Manchester, but I’m unsure if I should dedicate an entire day to it, considering I also want to explore Manchester.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there!
That sounds like an exciting trip! Yes, it is definitely possible to do a day trip to Chatsworth from London, but it requires some planning. Chatsworth House is around 140 miles from London and typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours by train. You can take a train from London to either Chesterfield or Matlock and then catch a bus or taxi to the estate.
However, if you’d prefer to explore Manchester more thoroughly and are concerned about fitting everything into one day, you might find it easier to visit Chatsworth while you’re in Manchester. It’s around a 30-40 minute train ride from Manchester to either of those stations, making it a very manageable day trip.
Ultimately, if “Pride and Prejudice” is a big draw for you, visiting Chatsworth is a must! Just make sure to plan your day well, so you have enough time to explore both the house and the beautiful gardens. Either way, you won’t be disappointed!
Have a fantastic time, and let me know if you have any other questions!
