Question about the tube, specifically Paddington, St Pancras, and KGX

Tube Navigation Inquiry: Paddington, St Pancras, and King’s Cross

Hi everyone! I’m flying into London Heathrow in a couple of weeks and I’ve managed to get discounted tickets for the Heathrow Express. I feel confident about making my way to that line at the airport. However, I have a couple of questions about navigating Paddington and the subsequent transfer to the tube for King’s Cross St Pancras.

Once I arrive at Paddington, are the tube entrances for the Hammersmith and Circle lines heading eastbound close by? Also, once I get to St Pancras, is the King’s Cross rail station located in the same building or just across the street?

I appreciate your patience; I’ve traveled on European trains before but haven’t used the underground yet. Thanks for your help!

  1. Hi there! No need to apologize—it’s great that you’re planning ahead for your trip.

When you arrive at Paddington Station, the tube entrances for the Hammersmith & City Line and Circle Line are conveniently located nearby. After you exit the Heathrow Express, follow the signs for the Underground (Tube) or look for the escalators or stairs leading down. It should take just a few minutes to reach the tube platform.

As for your transfer to St Pancras, it’s quite straightforward. Once you arrive at King’s Cross St Pancras station, you’ll find that King’s Cross and St Pancras International are adjacent to each other. They are connected via a short walk—just follow the signs, and you should see clear directions leading you to both the King’s Cross rail station and the St Pancras International station.

If you have any more questions or need help with anything else, feel free to ask. Have a great trip!
